Near Term Future

Over spring break, I plan on spending time with family. I also have an assignment in one of my classes where we have to contact someone who has a career that is similar to what we want to do and shadow them for a day. I plan on doing that over spring break as well because it is the easiest time for me to get that done.

If at First, You Don't

When I was in the 6th grade my school was trying to get together a boys volleyball team since because we only had a girls team. They were asking all of the boys around the school if they wanted to play or not and my initial answer was no, but they continued asking me (probably because I'm tall) and I eventually said yes. I had never played volleyball in my life, but I knew the concept of it. Once the season started there wasn't many of us, so I was forced to start every game. For the first few games I wasn't able to serve the ball over the net at all and got subbed out every time it was my turn to serve. As time went on, I got better and I was consistently serving over the net. Towards the middle of the season,  I became one of the best players on the team.

Moments From the Rock

My first night here at Slippery Rock was pretty cool. There was a hyponosis show that we had to go to and it was fun. All freshmen were there and during the show, many people were "getting hypnotized". Although, I think many people were faking, I liked how the hypnotist interacted with the students.

Hard Time At The Rock

Basically, the whole fall semester was hard for me mainly because of General Chemistry I. I did terrible on the first exam because I didn't know what to expect, so for the rest of the semester I had to work to dig myself out of that hole. I was studying for chemistry almost every day and I was also taking Biology which wasn't as hard as chemistry, but it also took a lot of studying for that as well. Most of the exams in these two class were days apart so I had to figure out how I was going to study for both. I found myself studying chemistry more and my grade would go up, but my Biology grade would drop a little bit. It was really all about finding that balance.

Snow Bound

Ever since the snowstorm I have been more productive with my schoolwork because during the time that we were virtual I wasn't really doing any work. I've also been dressing warmer and making sure that I have on shoes that I can walk in the snow with. My dorm room has been colder since the snowstorm as well.
